Guidance.

Please review the below information prior to uploading.

General.

All work uploaded to the site must be your own and must be original to you as the author.

No offensive material is to be uploaded to the website, either directly or indirectly through links.

You must follow the guidelines specified or your presence on the website may be delayed, or removed entirely.

Contacts.

Due to the number of courses contributing to the site, if you have any problems with the upload process you should contact your Course Leader in the first instance to explain the issue. This will then be fed to the website support team who may contact you afterwards.

The courses and Course Leaders included in the site are as follows:

Architecture:

IAD:

AT:

If hearing from the website support team, you will receive emails from either:

  • Ben Price.

  • Sean Johns.

Text.

Your project will have space for an accompanying description, which is split into two parts.

The exact nature of what you write will depend on your course and should be agreed in advance with your tutor teams.

Each part of the description should be a maximum of 800 characters (including spaces), which equates to approximately 150 words.

This means that you will have approximately 300 words in total for your description, so ensure that you are being succinct but descriptive.

Each section will also have a heading to accompany it. Your headings have been chosen in advance by your course. Please see below, in the Course Specific section for more details.

All written content should be checked in advance of submitting to remove/ correct any spelling and grammatical errors.

Links.

You will be asked to provide a link as part of your profile. The format for doing this will be done through the Linktree platform.

You are advised to create a Linktree profile and configure it in a way which best suits you. Within the profile, you may wish to include links to various other sites and work, such as:

  • Social media accounts (IG, LinkedIn, etc).

  • Portfolio websites.

  • Video platforms (Youtube, Vimeo, etc).

You can follow this link to create a Linktree account.

You will also be asked to provide a preferred email address, which will be displayed on the website for anyone wishing to contact you. You may use any email address which you own, but be mindful of it being appropriate to the site. If you do not wish to include other external links then you won’t need to create a Linktree profile; it is not compulsory and won’t impact your position in the Showcase 2024 website.

Main Images.

You will be asked to submit two main images, which will accompany the descriptive text on your profile.

Usually these are the most important images on your profile and offer eye-catching graphics of your project.

The first of your main images will also be the thumbnail of your project in gallery views, so make it stand out!

The main images are in a landscape aspect ratio (the format of these two images cannot change) and so will crop any uploaded images to fill the frame. You will still be able to click the image to enlarge it fully, however please aim to select an image which has a central focus where possible, or crop your image prior to upload to suit the best focus of your image..

Additional Content.

You will have the chance to upload an additional 10 images/ videos in support of your project. This number is a total, meaning that you can have any combination of images and videos adding up to a maximum of 10.

There is no set aspect ratio for the content, allowing you to upload in portrait, landscape, or square formats. You may therefore wish to upload your main images in this area again if wanting to see them uncropped on the page.

Image sizes should not exceed 1500 width or 1500px height, with a suggested resolution of 72ppi. You may need to reduce the size of images in Photoshop/ similar prior to upload in order to accommodate this.

Course Specific.
