2085 Narrative

Citizens escaping the AI-controlled Arc arrive at Papplewick to reclaim their bodily autonomy by removing energy-harvesting masks. Within the oppressive cities of the Arc, individual thought, freedom of worship, and knowledge of nature’s existence are suppressed, replaced by the Arc’s dictatorial control.

The ritual of liberation unfolds in a fire temple-inspired pavilion, where the discarded masks are cast into a central fire pit. Papplewick transforms into a sanctuary of rehabilitation, guiding individuals through a process of realignment. The space fosters spiritual and physical healing by focusing on the solar plexus, throat, and third eye chakras. This is achieved through a series of ritual practices, including meditation, speech therapy, and reconnection with nature.

Spatial Concept

This spatial visualisation showcases the resonance chambers and the radiant central fire pit, which fuels the process of rehabilitation. Each individual sits beneath their own resonance chamber, with their head immersed while they engage in meditation and vocal strengthening exercises. The sound generated projects into the mask removal area, foreshadowing the journey they are about to undertake.

The meditation cushions are carefully designed for optimal positioning, enhancing the effectiveness of these exercises. The glowing fire casts a warm, dynamic light, enriching the space with a sense of beauty and transformation. As the flames flicker, it seems to breathe alongside the participants, guiding them through their meditation.
