2085 Narrative
In 2085, humanity has grown detached from the physical world, relying on AI and virtual environments to guide life. The Department of Remembrance emerges to counter this, preserving human rituals, imperfections, and tangible memory. My narrative follows a world where people augment themselves for perfection, slowly forgetting what it means to be human. The Department creates “Places of Human Remembrance,” where forgotten crafts and stories are reawakened. Here, memory is not data but touch, mark, and time—a rebellion against artificial efficiency. My project questions: What will be left of us when imperfection is removed?
Spatial Concept
The architecture acts as a vessel for memory, designed to reconnect people with the physical and the imperfect. The temple unfolds as a journey through craft, time, and reflection. The site includes an archive, workshops, an observatory, living quarters and an energy production room. Spaces shift in tone—from earthy and tactile to mechanical and sterile—reflecting the conflict between artificial precision and human expression. The building operates 24/7, carefully controlling light to minimise light pollution and repetition is used to evoke disorientation and wonder, offering a place to remember, to feel, and to reconnect.
