2085 Narrative

In 2085, Papplewick Pumping Station is reimagined as the key hub for communication in a futuristic utopia. The design combines sleek, futuristic architecture with the historic charm of the original building, preserving its legacy of letterpress and handwritten communication. This space bridges the past and future, offering visitors the chance to engage with traditional methods. Papplewick symbolises freedom—freedom to communicate through both traditional papers, empowering individuals to connect in diverse, meaningful ways. It stands as a timeless centre for human expression in a world that continually evolves.

Spatial Concept

This sanctuary is a gateway for thought and creation far from the reach of AI. This refuge is where paper is made, books are written, voices are found, and heavy thoughts are offered to the fire. Through each burning, each word, and each spoken truth, the spirit of history, art, and free expression breathes anew. A space for creation, learning and adapting. A connection of layers and preserving the future.
