2085 Narrative
In the decades leading up to 2085, humanity’s overdependence on AI and synthetic realities caused a deep cultural rupture. Vision became distorted through ocular implants, and memory was outsourced to digital archives. Nature collapsed, and ancestral knowledge faded into algorithmic noise. In response, the Department of Human Remembrance (DHR) was formed to restore truth through ritual, land, and embodied experience. By 2085, sound, movement, and nature become sacred tools of reconnection. The narrative centres on reclaiming Afrocentric identity through performance and storytelling.
Spatial Concept
This project reimagines space as a living ritual—where sound, memory, and movement converge. Architecture is not static but pulsing with rhythm, shaped by the conceptual driver of soundwaves. These waves guide circulation, inform form, and choreograph the user’s experience. Participants journey through thresholds designed to blur the line between body, land, and memory.
Drawing from griot traditions and ancestral storytelling, the spatial strategy centres on embodied reconnection—inviting participants to rediscover truth not through observation, but participation. Their journey rises and fall like sonic peaks.
