2085 Narrative
Titled “The Journey,” the space envisions an experiential antidote to the AI-dominated future of 2085—a world where human cognition has been risked. Since rediscovering the self is neither an instant process nor effortless, the proposal presents a series of immersive experiences designed to ground, realign, and reawaken individuals- inspired by the natural emotion observed in the movement of the pendulum. Rooted in the steady rhythm of a pendulum, the design language embraces continuous motion and evolution, expressed through a considerate use of arches, curves, and organic lines. These spatial elements metaphorically represent the core stages of the journey: introspection, navigation and reflection—which forms the most important steps on the path to reawakening.
Spatial Concept
“The Journey” begins with an immersive confrontation of the fragmented self, urging individuals to acknowledge their present state before transformation. Upon entry, ascending a series of incomplete steps evokes disconnection—only gaining form with each step forward, symbolising progress. Five pod-like structures, inspired by five fingers of footstep, offer introspective spaces. Inside, fragmented mirrors reflect the distorted self, mirroring the cognitive disruption due to an AI-dominated future, 2085. Encased in rod-like structures, the pods evoke a sense of entrapment. Depressed walls with reflective, organic lines heighten uncertainty. Separate entries and exits reinforce the notion—once begun, the journey of reawakening allows no turning back.
