AI life on the Moon is very uniform and ordered. People born there are intrigued by Earths individuality and historical culture thus come through Papplewick to be accepted on Earth.
Spatial Concept
This long section demonstrates the journey to Earth's Crust. Firstly, they walk off the space ship, go to the tallest building on site; the Chimney to see the orrery. Then they change out of their space suites into boiler suites and enter the ramp where they collect sticks, entering in and out of the Engine House, to make their lantern and paint their memories on it. They enter the boiler house to see elements of Earth and the life they will be entering if they complete the ritual, before lighting the lantern and saying good bye to space for forever with letting go of their lantern. As they let go of the lantern they are accepted by Earth by floating down into it through a lift system seen witnessed by people in the village.
