2085 Narrative
This project asked us to speculate what the world would look like in 2085 with the continued development of AI. I envisioned a world suffocated by digital smog. A thick, oppressive haze born from reliance on machines. This environmental decay has driven society into mass depression, leading many to escape through OblivionX, a drug that induces weeks-long sleep. In response, the Department of Human Remembrance establishes a facility to cultivate Psilocybin Mushrooms to naturally restore endorphins and rewire the mind toward renewal.
Spatial Concept
My concept 'change of state' drew inspiration from the Aeolipile, an forgotten steam powered device that, through gradual reinvention, sparked the Industrial Revolution. The idea of small transformations leading to profound is reflected in my design through origami, where simple folds evolve into complex forms. Through a series of rituals, visitors partake in a process that fuses the power of steam and natural endorphin enhancers to achieve an altered state of mind. By merging these together my project seeks to awaken a new societal consciousness one that can envision solutions to the smog and reclaim the world from its technological decay.
