2085 Narrative
This story reflects a haunting cycle of fear and survival, where escape is futile—an allegory for our increasing dependence on AI. As society turns to flawless virtual realities to avoid discomfort, we risk slipping into emotional detachment and isolation. What seems like comfort is, in truth, a sterile illusion—where perfection conceals a loss of humanity and the terror of disconnection.
Artificial intelligence may perceive sight and sound, but it lacks the depth of human sensation—taste, touch, and smell. The perfume-making workshop counters this limitation, using scent and texture to ground participants in the physical world. This sensory engagement restores presence, highlighting the irreplaceable richness of human experience.
Spatial Concept
This project uses a perfume-making studio to reconnect people through sensory experience, contrasting AI’s limitations. While AI can see and hear, it lacks touch, taste, and smell. Here, visitors handcraft scents—something AI cannot replicate. The journey moves from memory-triggering raw aromas to hands-on creation, refinement, and personalisation, ending in a shared social space that fosters real human connection.
