2085 Narrative

In the year 2085, I envision a food crisis.

Factors such as climate change would involve an increase in non-vegetative soil around the world resulting in the world chasing artificially produced meals survival. Fresh food would be a thing of the past, people won’t remember the taste of real food.

To combat this thought I conceptualised the idea of making the Papplewick Pumping Station a main point on the map of Nottingham as a place to get freshly produced meals.

A modern farm restaurant. In there the visitors would come to see the wonders of fresh food growing in an aeroponic garden and have the ability of seeing their meals being prepared and cooked in real time.

Spatial Concept

This place would act as a beacon of human connect because inside people would not only establish a routine, a ritual, but they would come from all different parts of the city to remember a way of life, from the past, through food.

Celebrating a vital part of human existence.
