Project
This pavilion design combines dynamic morphology, parametric modeling, and sustainable strategies to create a modular, AI-enhanced structure at Nottingham Trent University. Inspired by natural systems, its Voronoi-patterned timber frame supports dynamic shading and ventilation. Recycled materials and prefabricated construction reflect a low-carbon, adaptable approach. AI tools optimize lighting, acoustics, and structural performance, while human-centered design ensures an inviting space for exhibitions and events. The pavilion harmonizes innovation with environmental and social responsibility.
Project
The pavilion’s detailing supports modularity, strength, and ease of assembly. A galvanized screw-pile foundation anchors each module with minimal site impact. Timber beams connect using precise cross-lap joints, allowing quick, tool-free construction. Panels are prefabricated with integrated polycarbonate glazing and bolted connections for durability. Services like lighting and sensors are concealed within timber channels, enabling clean finishes and easy maintenance. The system is fully demountable, supporting relocation and sustainable reuse.
