Project

The proposed creative events venue is situated on the south coastline of Bognor Regis, on the former Alexandra theatre/Regis centre site. The 3 storey building will include a ground floor of kitchen units open to hire for various food vendors. The first floor will contain retail space units. Second floor to include fine dining restaurant offering local
produce and great views of the sea front. Outside landscaping provisions will include an entertainment space featuring a stage, bars, toilets and seating to offer various events such as sports screening, live music and activities. Further updated landscaping around the site to be completed. Over a hundred new jobs will become available, opening a space for small businesses and business start-ups. This project is a way to serve the community

Research

Exploring the Impact of Visual Perception on User Experience in Entertainment Spaces.
Using a mixed method research strategy, the variables; ceiling height, lighting and materials, were studied to see how they affect visual experience/comfort. This was achieved via a series of 3D render images, with a series of questions asked to participants using the Likert scale method, to produce graphical data of the findings. To conclude, visual perception is a core factor in architectural design. The parameters we studied showed to be of great value when creating a successful fine dining space. Moving away from this research, I discovered how a nice view can speak volumes and the design should work with and around its surroundings in order to be classified as a positive user experience.
