Project

Echoes of Eternity is an immersive museum designed within Newark Castle, blending history, mythology, and storytelling. Inspired by British and Norse folklore, it features symbolic architecture—labyrinths, amphitheatres, and planetariums—to engage visitors in narrative journeys. The design prioritises inclusivity, education, sustainability, and community, with spaces for performance, ancient inscriptions, and celestial myths. This museum redefines traditional displays, creating a sensory, accessible experience that connects past and present through interactive and atmospheric design.

Project

Set within the historic ruins of Newark Castle, Echoes of Eternity reimagines the museum as a vessel for myth, memory, and sensory storytelling. Drawing on architectural theories of atmosphere and emotional impact, the design blends history and folklore through light, texture, and symbolic spatial forms. Key features like the planetarium and open-air amphitheatre engage visitors in multi-sensory narratives, while etched stone walls and shadowed corridors evoke ancient inscriptions and cultural memory. Sustainable elements—rainwater harvesting, passive cooling, solar panels, and timber batten cladding—are integrated to both reduce environmental impact and reflect storytelling through layered material expression.
