Project
This third-year Architecture project has provided an opportunity to explore my creativity and design thinking through the unique and challenging context of a public aquarium.
The project journeys from initial concept to developed design, integrating spatial experience, environmental performance and technical resolution.
Throughout, I have experimented with form, structure, materiality and sustainable strategies to shape a building that not only functions as an engaging public space but also raises awareness of marine life and environmental issues.
Project
The Newark Aquarium combines immersive experience with educational outreach to raise awareness and engagement around marine ecosystems.
Aligned with un sustainable development goal 14, the design integrates interactive elements and sustainable practices inspired by multisensory architecture, using light, sound and temperature to simulate an underwater world.
Evolving exhibits and interactive spaces deepen emotional connections to marine life, encouraging ocean stewardship.
Education is central to the design, featuring labs, exhibitions and a theatre to support research, community engagement and conservation. Sustainability is prioritized through renewable energy, efficient water systems and eco-friendly materials.
