Project

Painting and sketching are creative meditative practices shaped by observation imagination and expression. Learning foundational art skills begins with sketching studies composition and understanding form before developing into painting. Choosing a subject can be challenging as references are everywhere. The concept models represent the flow and qualities of paint exploring techniques textures and colours. Once the idea is established the artist selects a surface from cardboard studies to finished canvas works. Colour mixing can be deliberate or spontaneous and unexpected combinations often add character. The process develops from sketches and outlines to refining details until the image comes to life.
