The temple of the forgotten
Clepsydra
By 2085, Papplewick Pumping Station transforms from its Victorian roots into a place of ritualistic remembrance, blending water, gravity, and mist to create an atmosphere where memories feel both delicate and lasting. Water, with its fluidity and capacity to reflect, holds a unique connection to memory and emotion, its surface mirroring the present while its depths conceal the weight of the past. Inspired by the rhythm of rain-dancing, the space serves as a living water clock, where each droplet marks the flow of time and the endurance of legacy. Here, water is both a keeper of memory and a medium through which emotions ripple and echo, capturing the essence of remembrance in its continuous, unbroken movement.
