Triad Music Centre

My project is an orchestral performance venue located in the Market Place of Newark-on-Trent, bringing a contemporary approach to the historic nature of the town. Its defining feature is a cantilevered form which lifts the main performance space above the square, creating a sheltered public space beneath which acts as an extension to the existing space. Rooted in the idea of connection, the building opens onto the market square through multiple entrances, encouraging movement through and around the site. Inside, there is a mix of both public and private spaces, including a café, instrument repair workshop and private practise rooms, bringing people together through music.
