Atelier 01: Cabinet of Curiosities
Situated along the River Trent against Newark Castle, the Riverstone aims to be an
innovative educational complex which focuses on rivers and their geology. It is formed
of two components: a public courtyard which serves as a community space whilst
housing a permanent immersive exhibition; the other a riverside museum, running along
the edge of the castle, overlapping the river. This element is the main feature spanning
across the Trent containing a research centre, multiple exhibition spaces, including a
floating exhibition, a riverside café, and a relaxing water-related activity centre.
