Kate Evans Puttick
The Suit
Exploring the camera obscura revealed parallels with AI's subtle distortions of reality, sparking my interest in resisting digital-era plutocracy through protest and creativity. I focused on clothing as a medium for subversion, designing a modified suit to empower acts of protest and disrupt control. This project critiques the dominance of a lightly regulated tech world and AI, highlighting how late-stage capitalism fosters perfectionism and isolation. By integrating elements like a visor, mask, and stencil, the suit and its accompanying space serve as tools for self-understanding, creativity, and preparation for protest, aiming to reconnect individuals with their genuine interests and values.
